Shadi Bakour

Shadi Bakour is on a journey to bring the plastic crisis to the forefront and as the Co-Founder and CEO of PATH, a sustainability-focused water bottle brand, he is bringing us along for the ride. PATH water is the first bottled water that’s packaged in a certified refillable and 100% recyclable BPA-free aluminum bottle. Since its inception, PATH has helped save more than 250 million single-use plastic bottles from going into oceans and landfills. Currently sold in all 50 United States as well as seven other countries with more on the horizon, PATH partners with airports, hotels, universities and companies such as Whole Foods, Apple and Adidas – putting their aluminum bottles in more than 55,000 locations around the world. They also have exclusive licensing deals with Nickelodeon and Hasbro, showing that environmental impact can only benefit from creative collaboration. And the impact doesn’t stop there. “We started PATH with a vision to disrupt and change the way we think about an industry that is destroying our environment,” says Bakour. “We are on a mission to eliminate 10 billion plastic bottles going into landfills and oceans over the next 3 years and are committed to making a lasting positive impact on our planet.” PATH was the only bottled water company honored in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 with the SEAL award, given to 50 of the most sustainable companies in the world. In 2020, Bakour was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs. Before founding PATH, Bakour Co-Founded and acted as CEO of tech hardware startup Exumme, which was acquired in 2014. Prior to that he had a career in consulting and private equity with positions at Booz Allen Hamilton and Abraaj Capital.
