“Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning.”

The world is constantly changing and evolving to incredible heights — far beyond what we previously imagined. A world driven by those who create, innovate, and disrupt. A world of change-makers driven by an insatiable curiosity of newfound ideas. By indulging in our curiosities, we uncover new knowledge, push the boundaries of what is already known, and ultimately contribute to the collective progress of our communities. Embracing curiosity fosters a mindset of continual growth and learning, enabling us to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the world and ultimately shape its future.

Taking place in Ancaster High School’s decades-long recognized auditorium, deep-rooted in exemplary arts and inspiring communities, TEDxYouth@AncasterHighSchool is ready to fire back up again — this time, better than ever.

Students, are you ready to follow your curiosity and learn about unique ideas that are worth sharing? Join us for an outstanding line-up of innovators and disruptors, each introducing worthwhile ideas that will fuel our curious minds.

My fellow changemakers, it is now time to “Be Curious, Be Knowledgeable”.

Andrew Haley

Retired Canadian Paralympic Champion
At age six, Haley was diagnosed with bone cancer in his right leg. With only a 35% chance of survival, Haley underwent an amputation below his knee. He recovered, only to discover that the cancer had spread to his lung. With the same poor odds as before, Haley beat cancer a second time, losing part of his lung in the process. Although he lost part of his right leg, he never lost his fight. Haley pursued his passion in swimming, becoming a three-time World champion, five-time Paralympic medalist, and a Commonwealth champion. Alongside his hall-of-fame career, Haley has inspired a generation of leaders to achieve their own "gold medal moment".
