According to reports from the World Health Organization, over half of the global population lacks access to basic health care. In both our local and global communities, there is great disparity in health outcomes based on factors like race, gender, and socioeconomic status. The field of global health seeks to address these disparities and create a future where everyone has access to quality, affordable healthcare. Amisha Paul, an undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut and an aspiring global health changemaker, discusses her experiences in the field and the misconceptions we must address to build a future with health justice.
