斑馬魚細胞教我的再生知識｜The amazing regenerative capabilities of zebrafish

人類是再生能力薄弱的生物，而有些脊椎動物像金鋼狼一樣，受傷之後能很快速的再生複雜組織，陳振輝從斑馬魚實驗，找出基因突變而無法再生的斑馬魚，試圖找出控制再生基因的變因，期望未來可再生人類截斷的手臂、和老化生病的器官。
也利用不同螢光蛋白的混合，觀察斑馬魚表皮細胞再生活動，利用這樣的影像，研究皮膚再生的藥物，未來也期望應用在實際臨床醫學。再生醫學是發展非常快速的科學，透過研究動物「為何再生」與「如何再生」，是我們未來人類是否能活得更健康長壽的關鍵。

Some tissues in humans, such as skin and the liver, can regrow quite readily, while others have been thought to have little or no capacity for regeneration. Chen-Hui Chen, a regeneration biologist at the Academia Sinica, is conducting extensive research on the cells of zebrafish to understand its regeneration abilities on a genetic level. He shares his findings and his hopes of applying this ability to humans.
