This talk is broadly about about electronic music, specifically with regards to globalism and the way many different cultures influenced the evolution of electronic music as we know it today. If you know a little (or a lot) about electronic music, then you will appreciate the ideas- and if you don’t know anything about it, it’s a great crash course! A short live performance introduces the talk, then a brief history of some formative elements are covered, a look at the wide variety of styles in electronic music today, and finally what that tells us about individuality and culture in a globalized society.
