Provo-based indie rock group Michael Barrow and the Tourists perform four original songs, three of which can be found on their debut album, Juneau. Through their music they communicate ideas ranging from hope, to playful love, to stark vulnerability. Their music can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and wherever else music is found.
Michael Barrow & The Tourists was created in 2016 by Michael Barrow (Vocals, Guitar), Trevor Harmon (Electric Guitar), Alessandro Improta (Bass), Reed Perkins (Drums), and Zach Collier (Keys). Rallying around the expressive lyrics and rich vocals of Barrow, they began to inject John Mayer-esque guitar lines and warm textures into Barrow's brand of narrative folk.
The band quickly developed a reputation for their live performance, selling out local venues and opening for high profile artists like Ben Rector.
The band's debut album, Juneau, has received praise from indie music outlets. Music Existence called the album "an indie music lover's dream," SLUG Magazine praised its "melodic beauty and narrative complexity," and Reach Provo declared it "a lyrical and musical journey."
