TEDxPowai, an independently organized TED event in Mumbai, follows the TED tradition of sharing "ideas worth spreading." The 2025 event, themed Eunoia: Thoughts Made Beautiful, explores meaningful ideas that inspire transformation through creativity, intellect, and goodwill. Scheduled for Sunday, April 27th, 2025, it celebrates the power of ideas to drive positive change and invites diverse perspectives on local and global challenges. This theme emphasizes depth, imagination, and purpose, perfectly aligning with TEDx's mission.

Dr. Anita Soni is a seasoned Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Dr. L H Hiranandani Hospital, Mumbai, where she leads the High-Risk Pregnancy Unit. With an MBBS, MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), and DGO, she brings decades of expertise in infertility, maternal-fetal medicine, and operative endoscopy. She began her career at Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital and has held teaching roles at top institutions like KEM Hospital. A frequent speaker and published author, she has received multiple awards including the Care Award and Chairman’s Award for Employee of the Year. Dr. Soni is also a founding member of Powai Medicos Association.

Dr Prasanna Jogdeo

Dr. Prasanna Jogdeo is a water sector expert and sustainability advocate with extensive experience in water management, wastewater treatment, and ecological rejuvenation. He currently works as South Asia Operations Manager with the International Water Association (IWA). As Co-founder of Lemnion Green Solutions, he champions innovative, nature-based solutions for river and stream restoration, focusing on the management and rejuvenation of freshwater ecosystems. He promotes the philosophy of upstream treatment and management to prevent pollution at its source. He also advocates for water reuse as a key strategy for sustainable water management. Dr. Prashant is a Nephrologist and Transplant Physician at Gleneagles Hospitals, Mumbai, and an educator at the National Board of Examinations. A passionate researcher, he specializes in transplantation science and chronic kidney disease of unknown cause, with several published papers and academic awards to his credit. Beyond medicine, he is a regenerative farmer and founder of Aaranya Farms and La Naturelle Ferme India Pvt Ltd, promoting sustainable agriculture through agroecology, IoT, and precision farming. He is also actively involved in environmental and watershed conservation in Chopda.

Elsie Gabriel

Elsie Gabriel is an internationally acclaimed environmentalist, ocean literacy advocate, and climate strategist. As UNESCO Green Citizen for Ocean Literacy and National Coordinator for Oceans at The Climate Reality Project (India & South Asia), she has spent over two decades championing marine conservation, sustainable tourism, and climate action. Founder of the Young Environmentalists Programme Trust and Ocean School India, Elsie has led numerous youth-driven initiatives in Mumbai and the Lakshadweep Islands. A PADI Advanced and HSA-certified diver, she promotes inclusive diving across South Asia and is India’s Ocean Quest Global Ambassador. Elsie has spoken at the UN Ocean Conference (2022) and several COP climate summits. She contributed to the Venice Declaration on Ocean Literacy and consults on climate policy for the Lakshadweep Action Plan. She is affiliated with IUCN, Women Divers Hall of Fame, and #Women4Climate.

Kedar Sohoni

Founder of Green Communities Foundation, Technology entrepreneur, Expert in waste management

Kedar is a technology entrepreneur who has built research and analytics companies. His earlier company Informate was acquired by Nielsen. Kedar studied waste management as part of his volunteering stint at his own society where he implemented segregation at source and on-site composting. He set up Green Communities Foundation in 2017 and replicated this model across various societies in Mumbai. Current focus areas for GCF are Rural Waste Management and ward level waste management programs in Mumbai. Kedar is a B.Tech from IIT Bombay and a PGDM from IIM Lucknow. He started his career with Nestle in the marketing function.
