Theme: Flip the Script

This event occurred on
January 25, 2025
10:00am - 1:00pm WIB
(UTC +7hrs)
Sentul, Jawa Barat
Indonesia

“Flip the Script” explores the idea of taking control over our narrative toward the greater good. This happens by experiencing failure and embracing the complex emotions that come with it. We aim to inspire change in the youth’s pessimistic view of failure by engaging them in a journey of resilience and self-discovery. This change understands the constant experience of failure and overwhelming distress of emotions. Yet, at TEDxYouthSPHSentul, we believe that failure becomes the key to understanding the need to flip our script. Everyone shouldn’t be limited by the binary of success and failure. Moreover, we should be empowered to navigate through our understanding of failure as a means of discovering insights and promoting individual growth.

My name is Kala, and I am a deeply flawed person with an unlimited will to grow who aims to embody the soul of a storyteller. I love to write, share, and tell stories through interdisciplinary mediums– specifically through performing arts, literature, and social media– about life, people, and love as well as self-development, mental health, gender, and humanitarian issues. Some of my personal work include starting an NGO named Arise Arose and The #YourStoryIsHeard Community Organization, and campaigns such as #BerkainBersama, #BraveToBeBare, and most recently, Puan Rumah. Having survived many adversities such as sexual harassment, suicide attempts, and my diagnoses of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder, I aim to use my struggles to perpetually grow and create. I am excited to be telling my little story with TEDx!
