For eight years now, the European School of Brussels III has been hosting an annual TEDx event. Our themes have varied greatly, sometimes speaking of issues that affect us all, like climate change, and others who spoke of human experience, cause and effect. This year's theme, "To Infinity And Beyond" aims to encompass progress, and strength through hardship. Our speakers range from teachers, to students, parents, and guests who are experts in fields like astrophysics and psychology. Through this variety, we aim to inform the school community of the pressing issues that pur generation will, and is already facing, preparing them to be informed global citizens with critical minds, and an aim to make the world a better place, all though ideas worth sharing.

Do you know what you'll be doing after you finish school ? We're told that the choices we make as teenagers will impact our adult lives tremendously and as you're getting ready to be an adult in a very complex world, that probably seems very daunting. As an artist, musician, creator, educator and technician I want to share with you a few of the tips I learned along the way. What is one's VOICE (not necessarily the one you use your mouth for), how to find it and what does it have to do with happiness in life.

What does it mean to fail? How does it feel to fail? This Tedx will focus on how our ability to fail molds us and gives depth to our experiences.

Proving the stigma about our “younger” generation wrong. This generation is generally known as a lazy, nothing substantial is expected of us, yet we are constantly under pressure due to continuous problems in the world such as climate change, fate of our future, etc. However, our generation has, despite being thought of as lazy, had many scientific innovations, been very environmentally conscious, and has been heavily politically involved.

This speech, titled "Our World on Our Planet: To Infinity and Beyond," emphasizes humanity's responsibility to protect the Earth while embracing innovation and progress. It highlights the beauty and fragility of our planet, celebrates human ingenuity in solving global challenges, and encourages sustainable, inclusive advancements. The speech concludes with a call to action, inspiring individuals to dream big, act responsibly, and shape a future where humanity thrives in harmony with the Earth, striving for limitless possibilities.

Expert on Reproductive Rights
Reproductive rights are not just a “women’s issue” — they are human rights that impact education, careers, and futures. As an obstetrician gynecologist with global experience, I’ve seen firsthand how lack of reproductive autonomy can lead to devastating consequences, from unsafe abortions to maternal deaths. Even in Europe, reproductive rights are being rolled back, as seen in Poland and Hungary. Meanwhile, the reinstatement of the Global Gag Rule in the U.S. is cutting off healthcare access for millions worldwide.

We have heard/ will hear so much different interesting topics about infinity. Let me ask you: What’s something that feels infinite to you? Infinity isn’t just about the stars, the universe, or time—it’s within us too. Not measurable, only to be experienced. When you look at the stars, immerse yourself in nature, or get lost in music, you might feel like time stands still – or during some of your classes 😉. Just as the universe appears endlessly vast, our minds have infinite potential.

My talk will be about music, and more specifically, melodies, and a relation with infinity. If we take a certain melody, we can reproduce infinitely it in terms of some parameters (speed, pitch etc.). We can then add more to that melody, such as harmony, more melodies and we can layer it into voices, which could in its turn go on for infinity. Therefore, our melody could go on for ‘Infinity and Beyond’. It is fascinating; what we can do with something like a small series of notes.

Would you be able to imagine an infinite thing, in the universe? Having almost infinite density, infinite temperature, infinite force of gravity? Such an object exists, and it is called a Black Hole. Let's start a tour from the first of Einstein's speculations to the inner core of our galaxy, following the steps of scientists that proved that such extreme beasts are a very real feature of our universe. Black Holes are a landmark of our cosmic past, can they indicate our future as well?

“Curiosity” is an invitation to ignite your imagination and explore the limitless potential of asking questions. From looking at the stars to discovering hidden truths in everyday life, this talk reveals how curiosity is the driving force behind every great discovery and innovation. It’s about daring to wonder, explore, think and create – the only limit to what you can achieve is how far your curiosity will take you. “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.”

Sancho Piano De La Guardia

Student at EEB3
It has been observed that, as people age, they stop believing in dreams of the limitless possibilities that life has to offer. To most people, dreams are too risky and unrealistic, therefore they fall into a monotonous routine in their daily lives. The objective of this talk is to further emphasize the importance of dreaming and to encourage people to keep doing so regardless of age. Because although one needs stability in one’s life, no reward comes from not taking any risks, ’the biggest risk is not taking any risk’.
